Caption: Sea to Sea Bike Tour participant Anne Mushumanski, of Winnipeg, Manitoba, pitches her tent after hanging her wet clothing during the cross-country bike tour's overnight stop at Woodstock High School Monday evening. The nine-week, 3,881-mile bike ride from Washington to New Jersey aims to raise awareness and money to fight global poverty. Monday's leg took the tour from Madison, Wis. to Woodstock, and the riders will rise early Tuesday to make their way southeast to Palos Heights. Many of the days early in the tour were difficult, hot and hilly, Mushumanski said, but quickly added that the cause is worth the effort. "You think of the poor people and the hardships that they have to face -- they can't give up, so we have to not give up either," she said. The ride is affiliated with the Christian Reformed Church of North America (CRCNA). Those interested in donating to Sea to Sea poverty-relief efforts may do so through the CRCNA Web site at www.seatosea.org.
